There exists a continued effort to control the level of phosphate in water systems as well as decrease the amount of surface runoff. The sediment present in surface runoff proves to be the main catalyst for phosphate contamination. The phosphate makes its way into the water systems by being absorbed by the soil.
The quality of a water system can be drastically improved by introducing REX-BAC-T BP-1601 into the contaminated system. REX-BAC-T BP-1601 works by populating the contaminated water system with naturally occurring bacteria strains that absorb the phosphate. By changing the respiration level - anaerobic to aerobic - this causes the bacteria to ingest the oxygen forcing the phosphate to fall out and separate, which facilitates removal from the system.
REX-BAC-T BP-1601 also works to reduce BOD in the water system by converting both soluble and insoluble organics to suspended organic solids. The resulting solids are then forced out of the water by introducing secondary clarifiers making for easy removal from the system.
